The beautiful village of Gassin, nestles high up in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region of south-eastern France. It is located near the popular holiday destination of Saint-Tropez and is enjoyed by many visitors each year.
This is one of our favourite places to visit and every year we can’t wait to go back and enjoy everything it has to offer. The atmosphere is relaxing and tranquil and is not over run with crowds of people, which can be the case when visiting the South of France in peak season.
There are several restaurants to choose from, all laid out beautifully and all incredibly enticing and whether you are wanting lunch, dinner or just an ice-cream sundae, you’ll be spoilt for choice with what’s available.
The surrounding beauty of this picturesque village is breathtaking. The views are stunning, with restaurants overlooking the majestic Mediterranean and flowers in full bloom, you can’t help but fall in love with this little gem in the Côte d’Azur.
Whilst we were there, I picked up a beautiful oil painting by a local artist. The painting is of a charming, little lane in Gassin. I went in search of this lane and was over the moon when I eventually found it.
I spotted a lovely quaint gift shop whilst strolling around, which of course I had to venture into. I loved taking my time, walking around and admiring all that was on offer. The heavenly scent of lavender and soaps filled the air, which encompassed everything I love about France. Wall plaques also seemed to be quite popular and I couldn’t help but purchase a couple for our home and for our caravan, eager for them to be on our wall as a wonderful reminder of our fabulous time away.
So if you’re heading to the Côte d’Azur this summer, why not stop off at this delightful village, it truly is a magical place.
