My last post saw me talking about things that I have learnt as a newbie blogger and my experiences of being relatively new to the blogging world. With this post I thought I would introduce myself a little bit more with these 12 fuelled facts about me, in the hope of letting people get to know me a little better.
Okay, so here are some facts about myself, interesting or not, I guess these are what makes me, me.
I have been married to hubby for 18 wonderful years (we got engaged after only 7 weeks of knowing each other, quick eh?) and we have 2 amazing daughters, who are 13 and 10 years old.
I absolutely love reading books (well, my kindle actually as this is my preferred choice). I read as often and as much as I can. My favourite genres are psychological thrillers and crime novels and some of my absolute favourite authors include M.J. Arlidge, Robert Bryndza, B.A. Paris and of course James Patterson. I have also reviewed several books for these authors as well.
I am a huge film buff and I always try and watch at least 3 or 4 films a week. Again, my favourite genres are thrillers, crime and action (can you see a pattern forming?), but occasionally I’ll be in the mood for a romcom. It’s difficult to choose my all time favourite film, but since I’m under intense pressure to choose one, I’d have to say … no, it’s no good sorry, I can’t decide. Will let you know at the end if I’ve managed to make a decision.
Okay, so don’t all shout at me at once, I’m being truthful here, my all time crush is Slyvester Stallone! Has been since I was 15 years old, that’s quite a few years (not saying how many though) and I can’t go too long without watching a Rocky or Rambo film. What can I say, I’m a sucker for those action movies.
I have been a Teaching Assistant in a Primary school for the last 15 years and I love it. I have worked in all areas of Primary school life, but my favourite place to be is in Key Stage 2.
6. The 80’s
I absolutely love 80’s music, all 80’s music actually and of course, I love 80’s films. I think films by John Hughes are fantastic, especially Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Pretty In Pink, The Breakfast Club, Some Kind of Wonderful, shall I go on? Great actors, great storylines, great outfits (okay, maybe not outfits) but yeah, really great films.
Love dogs, all breeds of dogs actually. We have a pooch called Teddy a.k.a. The Artful Dodger, because of his constant thieving. He’s a Huggy Bear breed, which is a Westie Scottie cross and he is totally adorable, although he wouldn’t be out of place as one of Fagin’s gang (he’s definitely picked a pocket or two).
I love our family holidays, spending lots of time together, it’s great. At home, we’re usually off doing our own thing, so being together at these times is a must. We try and getaway as often as we can and we are always thinking about or planning our next adventure.
Now this one is a bitter sweet topic. I use to ski, not very well I might add, but skiing I did, however I gave it up completely after I had a fall, knocking my confidence. My family still ski though and now I just enjoy the après-ski, which by my reckoning, was always the best part anyway.
I started this blog 7 months ago and I absolutely love it. Not only is it a wonderful hobby (would like it to be more, but early days I guess) it is also a great way to connect with other like-minded folk, making new e-friends along the way. I can honestly say I have ‘met’ some really lovely people.
My favourite food to eat for breakfast, or any other time of the day for that matter, is pain au chocolat. Pain au chocolat on its own, pain au chocolat with a cappuccino, pain au chocolat with meat and two veg, okay maybe not the last one, but seriously, I can’t get enough of the things. Not really sure what I would do if they ever became extinct, get withdrawal symptoms, that’s for sure.
I’m just starting out on this new venture. For Christmas my hubby bought me a lovely camera to use for my blog. I love it and I always try and take pictures whenever and wherever possible, much to the annoyance of my daughters, who like to tell me I’m taking too many photos and holding everybody up. Is there really such a thing as taking too many photographs?
So that’s it, a quick round-up of me. Oh and my favourite film? Still thinking about that one.
